“Anton Kouzmin of Anton Kouzmin Architecture was an absolute pleasure to work with on our new house project. We engaged them to design a home that respected the heritage restrictions of the area but at the same time incorporating a clean, contemporary look. Our long list of mod con inclusions for our growing family seemed impossible, however, Anton made it possible and we absolutely love the design and plans completed. Highly recommended if you are seeking an architect you can work closely with for a custom and unique design.”

Anton Kouzmin Architecture
We seek to provide inspiring and enduring spaces that respond to the unique characteristics of your project.
Each project is approached with the imperative to gain a thorough understanding of your needs to deliver a bespoke and creative solution. Our approach is collaborative and we value the input of others.
At any scale our design embodies optimism, elegance, rigour, integrity and meaning.
Our architecture is generated from a pragmatic and poetic concern with spatial and tectonic composition, an articulation of a narrative derived from your brief and the unique characteristics of your particular project and site.
These concerns generate ideas that are clearly legible throughout the completed work.
Our capability ranges from multi-residential and major event masterplanning, to new and refurbished bespoke private homes.
Prior to launching Anton Kouzmin Architecture, Anton gained global architectural expertise working across a diversity of scales, budgets and sectors with multi award winning architectural firms BVN, JPW and SJB.
His portfolio includes multi-residential apartment developments in London and Syndey, new family homes, commercial office headquarters, Australian defence facilities, urban masterplanning, interiors and major sport venue and event masterplanning. He has collaborated with Olympic and European Games bid and host nation organising committees in venue design and event masterplanning at home in Sydney and in Baku, Beijing, New Delhi, London and Paris.
Anton is interested in the way the design of governance impacts the design of the built environment. He advocates for the development of planning principles that prioritise the public benefit and promote a culturally thriving, diverse and inclusive built environment.
Anton is experienced in managing complex stakeholder environments and has developed a rigorous approach to space planning, meticulous documentation and an approach to architectural design and delivery that displays rigour, clarity and a concise attention to materiality and detail.
Graduate of Architecture
Before joining Anton Kouzmin Architecture, Mariel completed her Master of Architecture with an excellence degree honour at University of New South Wales. Her final year studio project allowed her to collaborate with an on-site non-profit organisation and explore the themes of community resilience amidst social inequality. This cultivated her belief in putting people at the core of impactful architecture and design.
She previously gained experience overseas working in interior design for medium and small scale projects and developed her keen interest in meticulously detailed and crafted design.
Mariel brings her passion for architectural drawing and graphic representation to Anton Kouzmin Architecture. She was a recipient of the Belinda Brito Prize for Creativity and Passion for Design during her bachelor studies. She also returns to UNSW on an annual basis as a guest tutor; mentoring students on investigating architectural spatiality by means of freehand drawing.
Originally from the tropics of the Philippines, Mariel enjoys any activity that brings her to the ocean - scuba diving, surfing, snorkeling - and if not that, watching Sir David Attenborough’s Blue Planet.
